Virgin Beach is located in East Bali in the Karangasem regency between the Candidasa and Amlapura villages near Bugbug. It is known for its light sand, which is quite unusual in this part of the island. The beach is sometimes called "White Sand Beach," although the sand is not white - you can see a close-up photo in the gallery below.

Once in Bugbug village, you turn towards Virgin Beach; following the signs, you'll drive up a steep road where you'll get a nice view of the valley village, rice fields, and, if you're lucky, the highest volcano in Bali - Mount Agung (3031 m). In the open area, you will see a booth on the left where you should buy tickets. The price per person is IDR 50,000 (or IDR 10,000 for Kitas visa holders and locals). Parking is free. You will continue along the road on the left, offering you a beautiful view of the beach. After passing the campsite at the left turn, you will arrive at the parking lot next to the beach. This main entrance is on the south side, and you can find the GPS position here.

⚠️ Tip: You can also use the north entrance to the beach from Jl. Pantai Perasi, but you have to park at the top of the cliff and walk down about 100 steps to the beach. The disadvantage of this entrance is the lack of showers when you leave.

Immediately off the car park on the left, you can see the toilets and showers, the use of which is by voluntary donation.

Once you pass the showers, you will reach the beach, which is quite wide and about 570 meters long.

Along practically the entire beach, you will find many restaurants (Warungs) with sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. They usually lend you sunbeds for free if you plan to eat in a restaurant.   In addition to the restaurants, a bar on the beach opens at 11 am.

The beach is also suitable for snorkeling during lower waves. Equipment can be rented from selected restaurants for a small fee.

We recommend you not miss Virgin Beach during your wanderings in East Bali. Enjoy the view of the turquoise water surrounded by green hills and refresh yourself in the clear water.

+ Possibility to drive car/scooter right to the beach

+ Many restaurant options and plenty of sunbeds

- Prices in restaurants are higher (for the quality provided)
