about
Sanur
Sanur is a coastal town located in the southeastern part of Bali. It is known for its laid-back and relaxed atmosphere, making it a popular destination for those looking for a quieter holiday in Bali. Sanur has a long, beautiful beach with light sand, ideal for swimming and water activities. The village also has a variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops.
Sanur has a rich history as it was one of the first tourist destinations in Bali when the first large Bali Beach Hotel opened here in 1963. This de facto started the era of Bali as a world-famous tourist destination. Here you can explore the historic temples and shrines scattered throughout the city, such as the Pura Dalem Segara Temple. A Sindhu Night Market, where you'll find mostly street food, is also worth a visit.
Sanur also boasts a unique attraction, the Sanur Village Festival. It is held annually, showcasing the culture, art, and traditions of the local community. The festival offers a range of activities, including food stalls, music and dance performances, traditional ceremonies, and sports competitions.
Sanur offers a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere than other popular tourist spots in Bali, making it an excellent choice for families and couples looking for a relaxing holiday. Sanur is also home to digital nomads. You can find here a few co-working places with a great atmosphere. Among other things, Sanur is also very popular with older tourists so you can find them here more than in different locations on the island.
