about

Amed

Amed is a fishing village in the east part of Bali, famous for its black sand beaches and excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities. Unlike other popular destinations in Bali, Amed has retained its authentic charm and relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect place for those looking to escape the crowds of South Bali.

One of the unique features of Amed is the opportunity to snorkel at the wreck of a Japanese ship that sank during World War II and now serves as a popular diving and snorkeling site. In addition to the shipwreck, Amed is home to various coral reefs and marine life, including schools of colorful fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional shark and manta ray.

In addition to marine activities, as a visitor, you can explore the surrounding hills and villages, witness the daily life of Balinese farmers, visit temples and traditional markets, and enjoy spectacular views of Agung Volcano, Bali's highest peak. Amed is also famous for its delicious seafood, which can be enjoyed at one of the many local small warungs or larger restaurants.

In recent years, Amed has also offered several accommodations focused on yoga retreats. New coworking centers are being built to provide work environments for digital nomads who can put Amed on their list of potential work destinations.
