about
Melukat
Melukat comes from the Javanese word lukat = to purify (oneself). Melukat is, therefore, a ceremony for the purification of body, mind, and spirit, which repels evil spirits and can heal diseases of a spiritual nature.
The Melukat ceremony is a personal ceremony performed by a Balinese priest on a person in traditional clothes. Before the ceremony, meditation takes place to prepare the mind and body for the blessing. Melukat focuses primarily on the main points of all seven chakras to cleanse, relax and allow energy to flow freely again. The ritual occurs either on the beach or in a place with holy water, mostly in suitable temples. Water is the primary way used by the priest to purify the physical, emotional, and spiritual body. The last step of the ceremony is drinking coconut water to refresh and detoxify the body.
